Colloquial CZECH A1.2 Outline

Chapter 1: Review and Expansion (5 hours)

• Brief review of key concepts from A1.1 level
• Expansion of vocabulary related to daily life, professions, and hobbies
• Introduction to new grammatical structures, such as possessive pronouns, reflexive verbs, and comparative forms
• Practicing basic conversation skills in various contexts
• Listening exercises to improve comprehension skills
• Cultural insights and discussions about Czech traditions and customs

Chapter 2: Practical Communication (5 hours)

• Expressing opinions, preferences, and making comparisons
• Talking about past experiences using past tense forms
• Describing people, places, and things in more detail
• Discussing daily routines and habits
• Role-playing activities for common real-life situations (e.g., at a hotel, at the doctor’s office)
• Vocabulary expansion for shopping, ordering meals, and making reservations
• Introduction to basic conditional sentences

Chapter 3: Language Skills Development (5 hours)

• Building vocabulary related to transportation, directions, and travel
• Practice in reading and understanding simple texts
• Writing exercises to reinforce sentence structure and grammar usage
• Using adverbs of frequency and time expressions effectively
• Dialogue-based activities for improving listening and speaking skills
• Exploring Czech culture and literature through selected readings

Chapter 4: Cultural and Practical Competence (5 hours)

• Learning about Czech traditions, customs, and celebrations
• Developing intercultural communication skills
• Expressing opinions and engaging in discussions on various topics
• Practicing giving and receiving instructions
• Polite forms of speech and formal situations
• Reviewing and consolidating all topics covered in the course
• Final assessment to gauge progress and proficiency

Note: This course outline provides a general structure for a Czech language course at the A1.2 level, based on the CEFR framework. The duration of each chapter and the total course length may vary depending on the teaching methodology and pace of the learners. Incorporating authentic materials, interactive activities, and opportunities for conversation practice throughout the course will further enhance the learning experience.

What To Expect

• Final Exam: At the end of the course, you will take a written and verbal exam. A score of 70% is required to progress to the next level.

Terms and Conditions

• Your course fee includes one digital copy of the learning materials. If you’d prefer a hard copy, you can purchase one from our recommended supplier at an extra cost.
• Public group classes are designed for 30 academic hours per CEFR level. If the group grows to 5-7 students, we’ll extend the program by 10 academic hours. If only two students enroll before the course starts, the group will shift to a semi-private format with 20 academic hours.
• Want to switch to a different group or schedule? No problem! Just let us know at least 7 days before the course starts.
• All our teachers are native speakers of the target language. If your teacher falls ill or has an emergency, we’ll arrange a substitute who’s fully briefed on your progress.
• Once you’ve started with your group, switching to another group or schedule isn’t possible.
• Please note that course fees are non-refundable once the group classes have begun.
• We can record group lessons for later viewing, but only if everyone in the class agrees before the course starts.
• At the end of every program, you’ll take a final exam (both written and verbal). To move up to the next CEFR level, you’ll need to score at least 70%.
• After completing your final exam, you’ll receive a progress report, recommendations, and a certification for your hard work!
